December 14, 2014 - Update

Miss Darla is off to her new forever home in Fresno.  She has a loving new family and a very BIG brother for her to boss around.  She will be thoroughly spoiled and get more than any dog could ask for.

Her new mom and dad have promised to bring her back for visit's.  The whole Twin Cedar crew is going to miss this big clown of a girl!

Darla

Darla comes to us from the wonderful folks at the Calaveras Humane Society. She is a young Adult, Boxer mix that is real love bug. We are guessing that she is between 2-3 years old.

From the size of her chest she may have some English Bulldog in her as well. Darla is all about snuggling with her people and she hasn’t met a person that she hasn’t fallen in love with!!!

Darla has been getting along with all of the Twin Cedar pack while on lead. We have not had the chance to take her on any pack walks but are planning to in the near future. We will keep you posted on how she does.

She is a little pushy when she first meets new dogs but
has shown no aggressive behavior. When Darla met our
Savannah cat Gabby she stiffened and bristled and had a
very hard look on her face. Because of this, we do not
think she should go to a home with cats!

It is unknown if Darla is housebroken but she keeps her kennel very clean, doing her business as far away from her dog house and food bowls as possible. Most dogs that are this neat are usually housebroken. Darla is coming along with her obedience training but it is not necessarily her favorite thing to do! She would much rather just spend time with her trainers and get some good quality snuggle time.

Darla is a real clown when she is out of her kennel. She has however, learned how to heel, sit, down, stay and come(all on lead). Darla has made no effort to escape from her kennel and has shown no signs of separation anxiety.

Darla was heartworm positive when she was rescued but has been treated and is 100% clear of heartworms now. She has gained almost ten pounds since she has been at Twin Cedar Ranch!

If you would like to meet this very pretty girl, please give us a call or send us an email to set up an appointment to come out to meet her. We are sure she will win your heart!
