January 5, 2013 - Update

Our boy Chester just hit the jackpot today!!

We were looking for a home that had an active lifestyle and children to keep this boy busy and that is exactly what we found.

His new mom likes to take her dog on bike rides in the country. His new dad likes to hike and rock climb (and yes, it turns out that Chester can climb rocks and boulders) and he has two wonderful young and active kids to play with.

Good luck Chester and have a wonderful new life in Murphys.

Chester Arrives at Twin Cedar

Chester is a sponsored dog that came out of the Tuolumne County Animal Shelter. He is 1 to 1 1/2 years old and looks like he is a Border Collie/Flat-Coated Retriever mix. He is a very sweet and loving boy that definitely needs a second chance.

He has been in and out of foster care for the past 3 months and he just needs a home and family to call his own. He is playful and obedient other than not coming when called!

Here at Twin Cedar K9 he is finding out that not coming when called is not in his best interest and when he does come, he is the best doggy on the ranch.

Chester went on his first pack walk on the 30th and
had an absolute blast. Seven other dogs were on the
walk and Chester played with all of them. He loved
playing in the water and chasing the other dogs. He
loves to be chased the best.

He has a new kennel mate named Jolly who is a 5 year old male Pembroke Corgi who is also in our Second Chance Program. Jolly's herding instincts have kicked in and Chester is in hog heaven being chased and herded around the kennel by Jolly. These two are quite the pair!

Even though Chester is an active boy, he does have the ability to just kick back and relax.

Per his last foster parent, Chester is not house broken & is crate trained, great with people and he loves to ride in the car.

She also stated he is very focused on birds so if there are any hunters out there looking for a bird dog, with some training this boy may be able to do the job.
