If we every needed a dog that defined
enthusiasm, Tucker is it! He came from the Amador animal shelter
where they were so done with his craziness. When he came out for
his initial assessment, we found a happy guy that wanted something
to do and someone to do it with. He did not have any manners and
just didn't have a clue how to behave.
Tucker is an American Pit Bull, about 50
lbs. He is neutered, current on all vaccinations, heartworm
negative and on preventative to be sure he stays that way. He is
about a year or two old and in great shape.
Second Chance school is just what he
needed. He is motivated by praise and attention. That makes his
training much easier. After a happy greeting when we enter his
kennel, he settles down when his training collar is on and we head
out to the training area. As far as he is concerned, this is when
the fun starts.
From the start, Tucker showed us how
much he enjoys working. Here he shows excellent focus, that
made learning how to heel and walk on a loose lead easy.
Turning left, right, about or changing pace are an easy deal
for Tucker. He'll be at your side the whole time.
Interested in Rally Obedience competition? Tucker would bring
home the ribbons. It would be a simple matter of getting his
AKC ILP papers and off the the dog shows you go! |

He sits and down when asked. He is
learning to stay, but that will take a little more practice.
Remember that enthusiasm? That makes holding a tough challenge for
tucker.
Tucker is very social and gets along
well with other dogs, he does not seem to care about cats and
loves all people... especially kids.
