Update:
Lulu has found here forever home with one of the instructors
from Jeff Schettler's TTT trailing school.
Gordon really is a very special man in my mind. After he
fell in love with Lulu and had decided to take her, I noticed
her limping on both front legs.
I took her in to the vet and with the help from A-Pal (they paid
for her x-rays) Lulu was diagnosed with bi-lateral elbow
dysphasia.
Even with this bad news and knowing she would more than likely
require surgery on both elbow's, Gordon adopted her anyway.
Lulu truly is a very lucky little pup!
Lulu Belle is our crazy Bloodhoundador Retriever. That would be
a Bloodhound/Labrador Retriever cross. Lulu is about 16 weeks old
and came to us from the Amador County Animal Care and Control. She
is a real wild child with all kinds of energy to burn. Once she
settles down she is very sweet natured and loves to learn. In her
first obedience lesson she learned how to do a focused heel and
introduction to an auto sit. Her coat is a very dark mahogany and
is soft as can be.
Lulu loves to play with other dogs and has not
been tested with cats at this time. Our guess is she would love to
chase them to try to get them to play with her. Because of her
Bloodhound breeding, we feel she would make an excellent tracking
or trailing dog. She is already doing short puppy tracks/trails
and just loves to work. The best home for Lulu would be one with
lots of activity or the best home would be for someone to work her
in Search and Rescue.
