Sept 1, 2006 - Mr. Diesel is here and Gone!
Every now and them, something really good happens. And we got
one of those lucky happenings with Diesel. He came from the
Calaveras Humane Society and was scared of his own shadow when he
arrived. As training first started we found that he was terrified
of feet and tools in hand. Clearly he had been mistreated, to say
the least.
But, he gained confidence daily with training and gentle
treatment. The magic really came when we decided to try putting
him with our Amador Second Chance resident, Ellie. Immediately
they became fast friends! Ellie took him all over the area showing
him the best places to hide out and best sticks to chew. She was
especially delighted when he joined her for a splash and swim in
the pool.
Diesel did not stay long, however. He was quickly adopted and off
to his new home where he will be loved and well cared for. He even
has another dog to play and hang out with. Things could not have
worked out better. His guardian angel was surely watching out for
him! Goodbye Diesel!
