Noel

Here's our newest resident, Noel. She is one of the sweetest girls we ever had in the program. She is about four years old and a Golden Lab/Border Collie cross. So, she's a Golden Collie? Noel is spayed and in great health. Her coat and markings are very beautiful as befitting such a nice lady.

She came to us from the folks at the Calaveras Humane Society. She was a little unsure when she arrived. But in only a dog or so her real personality emerged. And all we can say is what a sweet heart! Nothing makes her day like someone visiting and petting her. It's that simple... she loves people and being together with you.

Her happy and willing demeanor makes training a real joy. Her motivation is being with you and with lots of praise she is a star pupil. The method that works best is to show her what you're asking for and wait for her to perform. That's what training is all about, being with your dog and learning how to communicate. The bond that develops is for a lifetime.

Noel has been bounced around, but her heart is wide open and ready for a new home. At the rate she is learning, it won't be long until she is ready to go. She will know how to walk nicely at a heel, sit and down when asked and even hold what ever position she was last in. Plus, being a star, she'll be able to do all this from the side or front via voice and hand signals.  One thing she is working on is her manners with other dogs. Sometimes she is too rude in wanting her space. She is learning that if she doesn't like something or another dog then the proper response is to just leave. To that, Noel says "No problem, nobody took the time to teach me that before now."

So, if you are considering a new companion to be with you in the house and for long walks please think about Noel. She is very sweet and all she wants is a home where she can bond, live and show how much love is in her little heart. She'll keep her end of the bargain, that's a promise!

*Noel is all about being a companion. She would be the happiest just to be with you walking or just relaxing over a long weekend. She loves training and if treated gently and encouraged with lots of praise she will learn almost anything. She's won our hearts already.
