January 25, 2014 - Update

Sexy Rexy now known as Max is off to his new home in Jackson.

This boy just loves people and especially kids so he really lucked out with his new family.

Max will be coming back for more obedience lessons so we will be able to keep track of this wonderful dog.

Rex

Rex comes to us from the Calaveras Humane Society. They pulled him from the Calaveras Animal Shelter where he had been for two long months.

Rex looks like he has the following breeds in him: Boxer/Pointer/American Bulldog and Pit Bull. Of course there could be other breeds mixed in but these are the ones that stick out the most.

Rex has a wonderful temperament and just loves all of the people that he meets. He is great with other dogs and has been going on our evening pack walks. One of my best friends and volunteers has given him the nick name "Sexy Rexy" which fits him!

Rex has mastered all of his basic obedience which includes heel, auto sit, down from the side and front, stay in a sit or down, coming when called, waiting for his food, at doorways and no jumping up on people.

This is Rex's very first obedience lesson and just look at how nicely he is heeling with his trainer Kazumi! Rex still will try to jump on any new people that he meats but once he knows they know all of the rules then so does he!

Because Rex is such a social boy we would love to see him go to a home with a family. Rex could fit into just about any lifestyle. He loves to romp and play with other dogs but he also strikes us as a guy that can just kick back and relax.
