My little Sammy has a wonderful new home in Lodi. She was a Fathers day gift from a loving family to their Father. I'm sure she will be spoiled absolutely rotten in her new home.

Sammy is a wonderful little girl that came to us from the Calaveras Humane Society. She was an owner surrender to the Calaveras animal shelter. Although she was in good weight when she was surrendered it was very obvious that she did not receive the best of care in her previous home.

Her coat was very dirty and covered in mats, some so bad that we had to cut the ones out that were behind her ears.
Fortunately Sammy loves to be groomed and sat for an hour letting us brush out her coat. As you can see, she is very pretty girl. We think she is a German Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix with a little something else thrown in. She is about 1 year old. She has a very sweet affectionate temperament with people and is a real cuddle bug.

She seems to have a calm disposition. Her surrender papers said she is good with children, men and women. Good with dogs and unknown about cats.We have found that Sammy is not real good with dogs.Since she was just a "Yard Dog" in her previous life she probably was not properly socialized with other dogs.

We are hoping with proper training and socialization, she will learn to trust other dogs and maybe even decide it would be fun to play with other dogs. As you can see, Sammy enjoys her obedience lessons and already knows how to heel, auto sit, down and stay.

Sammy is getting spayed on 5/22/08, is current on all vaccines and is on heartworm prevention. She will be available for adoption on 5/29/08.
