Update: August 11th, 2009

Petey is off to his new home right here in Volcano.

He will have acreage to run and play on and other Lab pack members to play with. His new owners are very active so
Petey will be getting plenty of exercise. Since Petey is a local
boy hopefully he will stop by and visit his old pack here at
Twin Cedar Ranch.

Petey Arrives at Twin Cedar

Hi, My name is Petey and I am a Labatolian Retriever or that is what Auntie Marge` thinks I am. That would be part Lab and part Anatolian Shepherd. They say I am about 8 months old and that I am pretty darn cute!

Some people think the 13th is an unlucky day but not me! That is the day that I was able to leave the Amador Animal Shelter and come out here to Twin Cedar Ranch to begin "Boot Camp" All I know is…I love it here.

I have a huge yard with a swimming pool and all kinds of tree's to… well, you know… I am a boy after all! When I was at the shelter I was very fearful of all of the other dogs that came near my kennel so I acted out aggressively to make them go away. Well, that action got me in a lot of trouble and the kind folks at the shelter did not think I would ever get a home acting the way I was.

Auntie Marge` came to the rescue!! She evaluated me and decided I was a good candidate for the Second Chance Program. So off to the vet I went to get neutered (not sure that was necessary) and to get fully vaccinated. Once all that was done, off to the ranch I went.

In the short week that I have been here, I have learned all kinds of good manners and training. Best of all, I have learned how to trust and get along with other dogs. I have had three different roommates and have become best friend with all of them.

I am currently living with Jazz and am having the time of my life. She is great as long as I let her have her way 100% of the time! Since I am such a good sport about it we get along just fine.

If you are interested in a great young dog, Petey may be your boy. He is very smart and seems willing to learn. He has been getting along nicely with all of the Twin Cedar Pack as well as client dogs and the other Second Chance dogs.

We have not seen any destructive behavior such as chewing and digging and he does not seem to be a real high energy kind of dog.

If you are interested in meeting the great pup, give us a call or
e-mail us to set up an appointment to come out to see him. 209-223-3194 or Margaret@TwinCedarK9.com
