Update: August 14th, 2009

Jazz is off to her new home in Sonora.  She is one lucky girl too!  She has a wonderful family and a home with a large fenced yard.

We cannot thank her sponsors enough for giving this very lucky girl a second chance at life.  Jazz accomplished a lot in the time that she was with us at twin Cedar K9.  She has learned all of her obedience, how to get along with other dogs and is our third Second Chance dog to earn her AKC CGC.

Way to go Jazz!!  Good luck in your new home, we will miss you.

Jazz Arrives at Twin Cedar

Jazz is not one of our usual Second Chance dogs.  She had been at the Calaveras County Animal Control for five weeks and her time was definitely running out.

We were contacted by a very generous couple who asked us if we could bring her into the program if she had a sponsor.  Once we heard what a special girl she is, we decided to take her into the program with a "Full Ride Scholarship" to the Twin Cedar K-9 Academy.

Jazz is about 2 years old and probably has had more that one litter of puppies.

She is a big beautiful Pit Bull or maybe a Pit/American
Bull Dog cross.  She is a very sweet girl who just loves everyone she meets. She acts like she would like to play with other dogs but still gets a little defensive if the other dog tries to sniff her.

When she greets the other dog she also appears to be a
little on the dominant side.  Because of her breeding, she should probably go to a home without other dogs or a home that has a very tolerant non pushy male dog.

She loves to swim in the doggy pools that are in her large dog run and loves to play fetch.

In the short time that she has been here she has already learned how to heel, auto sit, come when called, and down from the side and front.  She will stay in a sit or down and is learning both the finish left and right.

If her new owners were interested in doing competitive obedience, she would qualify for a ILP registration number from the AKC and compete in AKC events.

If you would like to come out to meet our big beautiful girl Jazz, give us a call or drop us an e-mail to make an appointment.
