February 16, 2010 - Update

Our beautiful girl Hannah is off to her new home right here in Pine Grove.  She will be living with very dear friends of ours and will be living the good life from now on. Dick and Marilyn are retired so Hannah will not be left home alone ever again.  Not only that, she will even have a cabin at Silver Lake to stay in during the summer months.  I wish Dick and Marilyn would adopt me along with Hannah!

Hannah will be coming back for ongoing training so we can stay in touch with this very special girl.  Be a good girl Hannah and we will see you in a few weeks.

Hannah Arrives at Twin Cedar

We pulled Hannah from the Stockton City Shelter where she had been picked up as a stray and not reclaimed.  She is very underweight but otherwise seems to be a very healthy girl.  She looks to be about 18 months old and has a very sweet disposition.

She was in heat when we picked her up and it looks like she has had at least one litter of puppies which is probably why she is so thin.  She has now been spayed and is eating well and is gaining weight.

Hannah is a real lover and just adores everyone she meets.  She is coming along nicely with her obedience training and really enjoys her time out with her trainers.  She does a very nice heal and auto sit along with a stay, however she is being a little on the stubborn side when it comes to the down command.

She would much rather just sit and snuggle with her human than learn to down.  We are sure that with time and patients, she will come to enjoy her obedience
work. Hannah gets along fairly well with other dogs
when she is on a leash but we do not fully trust her off lead at this time.

She seems to be aggressive with some other female dogs.  She does get along well with male dogs and acts like she would play well with them if given the chance.  As soon as she has recovered from her spay surgery we will put her in with one of our more tolerant males to see how she does.

Because of her female dog aggression it would be best if Hannah went to a home that does not have other female dogs.

Hannah is looking for a home where someone would be home most of the time.  A stay at mom or dad or a retired couple would be perfect.  She loves to run and play but has a nice energy level.  She is not the type of dog that is going to need to have a tremendous amount of exercise to keep her happy.

If you think you may be her person, please give us a call to set up an appointment to come out to meet her.
