Greta Arrives at Twin Cedar

Greta came to the Twin Cedar Second Chance Program from the Amador County Animal Control and Adoption Center on Oct. 2nd, 2008.

She had been turned over to the shelter as a stray. Greta is about 14 weeks old and is a pure bred German Shepherd Dog. She had "Parvo" when she was brought to the shelter but is now a very healthy little girl.

Greta was put in the Second Chance Program because she was a very wild little puppy. She would jump on, bite(playfully), and was totally uncontrollable.

Since we specialize in German Shepherds, wild or not, out here at Twin Cedar K-9, she was a perfect candidate for the program.

The first thing we did was to put her out in our large 100'X 100' kennel with our two other Second Chance girls and let her run and play until she couldn't run any more.

A tired puppy is a good puppy!! Within two days, Greta was a different dog. She was calm, obedient and a real pleasure to be with.
