May 10, 2006

Flash came to school today. She is a very pretty Yellow Lab/Collie mix. She is between two and three years of age and very healthy. Maybe a little too healthy, but she'll drop a few pounds over the next couple of weeks. She is current on all vaccinations and heartworm negative.

Flash came to us from the folks at the Calaveras Humane Society. When her foster person brought her out she was very scared and unsure. In her past she had been kept in a horse trailer. Poor little girl must have wondered what was happening to her this time. After a day or so she stopped hiding in her dog house and began venturing out to meet us in the morning. Even offering a tail wagging for a greeting.

Don't judge Flash by her name. She is very calm and her personality is starting to come out. She is best described by saying that all she wants is to have, and be, a good and loyal friend. Nothing makes her day more than going for a walk. She settles in right next to you with a very happy and contented pace. She does not pull on the lead or try and charge off in all directions. Instead she is delighted to just walk with you where ever you choose to go. It is in her nature to trust and she wants to find a friend to trust again.

Flash will continue to grow and blossom in a calm environment with older children. Or she would be very happy and fulfilled to be a valued senior companion. Flash has had a difficult life in the past. But that has not changed or diminished her desire to be a trusted and loving family member. If you have room in your life for special girl, please consider Flash. She will be the embodiment of faithfulness and in a quiet and happy environment she might even show a little mischief! She is a wonderful dog that deserves a good and forever home.
