August 30th, 2009 - Update

Buddy is off to his new home in Calaveras County where he will be a very spoiled "big" boy.

Buddy will be coming back for the group classes to continue his education. His new mom is still going to call him "Bozo" when he is being a bad boy.

We will miss this big goofy dog!

All of our Second Chance dogs get a go home bath before they leave the ranch. As you can see…. Buddy thoroughly enjoyed his bath….NOT!

Buddy Arrives at Twin Cedar

Buddy aka "Bozo" comes to us from the kind folks at the Amador County Animal Control and Adoption Center.  If you want to meet a big clown, Bozo is your boy.

He is an American Bulldog/Rottweiler cross and was born on Nov. 11th, 2007 which makes him 1 yr 9 months old.  His previous owners surrendered him to the shelter because he was way too much dog for them to handle.

All Buddy needed was some guidance and lots of room
to get plenty of exercise.  Since he has been here at
the ranch he has learned that people are not to be jumped on and to wait at all doors, gates and for his
food.  His biggest problem at the shelter was any time
someone tried to enter or leave his kennel he would
totally mug them.

When the volunteers tried to walk him, he would drag them all over the place and you guessed it… jump all over them!  Due to his large size, 100 pounds! None of the volunteers would take him out for walks any more which created even more of a monster.

In the short time that Buddy has been here he has learned most of his basic obedience and manners.  He is a big beautiful boy who truly wants to please his trainers.  He is currently sharing his huge kennel with our Calaveras Humane Second Chance girl Missy.  They get along great and both are getting plenty of exercise and social time which is just what they both needed.

Buddy needs a home where he will have plenty of room to run and burn off his excess energy, and an owner who will be willing to follow through with his training and manners.  We think he is a "diamond in the rough" and with proper training and socialization, will be a great addition to any household.

If you are interested in a big, can be a goofy boy, please give us a call to make an appointment to come out to meet him.
