June 9, 2011 - Update

Our ranch favorite Little Boy Blue is off to his new home east of Sutter Creek.  This guy is a tough one to let go!  He has won everyone's hearts out here at the ranch and will be missed greatly.

He has been going on all of our pack walks and has been a real pleasure to work with.  His new parents both work from home and he has two older dogs and 3 cats to hang out with.

His new folks have promised to bring him back for group classes on the weekends so we will be seeing you soon Blue!

Little Boy Blue was at a pet fair in Jackson today and his behavior was perfect. It was very crowded near the Twin Cedar K9 booth and Blue was just a "Happy Camper" He loved all of the children that came to visit with him, allowing them to pull his ears and jowls and pet him all over.

The hotdog stand was just down from our booth and he didn't even beg. What a great dog this boy is!! People were coming by with dogs, rabbits, snakes and even a huge, very noisy turkey and Blue was perfect with all of them.

Blue went on his first pack walk with 6 other dogs and did great. He was good with all of the dogs and came every time he was called. Blue loved playing in the water and running with his new pack of friends.

Blue Arrives at Twin Cedar

Blue comes to us from the kind folks at the Calaveras Humane Society. He is a very rare breed and may very well be the only one in these parts! He is a Chinese Blue Pei Hound! That would be a cross between a Blue Tick Hound and a Chinese Shar Pei.

Blue is 1 1/2 years old and truly is a real treasure. He is very sweet, smart, willing and a big clown. In one day he has already won the hearts of every volunteer and trainer at Twin Cedar Ranch.

Blue gets along with all of the dogs here at the ranch and just loves to come out and practice his obedience.

Per his previous owner, Blue does not get along with cats, however, he was tested with the cats at the shelter and he totally ignored them. We are sure because of his hound ancestry, if a cat ran he would more than likely chase it, what good hound wouldn't!!

Blue does not appear to have any destructive behavior and is house broken.

If you have room in your heart and home for this awesome boy, please give us a call to set up an appointment to come out to meet him. You won't be sorry!!
